The Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency is participating in today’s session that will see the launch of the #WekezaDada initiative at the Kenya International Investment Conference (KIICO 2023). The initiative seeks to unleash the potential of women - led enterprises and the discussion will focus on the role of women in trade and investment.
The Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency has provided platforms and programmes that centre on women-led businesses while embracing digitization as a game-changer for enhancing trade. As an Agency we have developed the ‘MakeItKenya’ eportal, an e-commerce platform that allows for buyer- seller linkages. The platform helps to overcome traditional trade barriers and enables enterprises to realize their full potential in the world of digital commerce.
While addressing the delegates at the conference Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency’s Export Market Development Manager, Ms Fatmar Bashir said that Agency has also partnered with International Trade Center for the EcommConnect programme and the SheTrades Accelerator Programme. These programmes look at scaling SMEs through the power of e-commerce and market access for women-led enterprises.
