Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) is participating in the 6th edition of the Annual Africa Conference on Social Entrepreneurship (AACOSE) at Tangaza University College.
AACOSE is a Pan-African gathering aimed at bringing together leaders in the social entrepreneurship-social innovation-social impact axis, as well as key facilitators from diverse ecosystems. Participants are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities that could lead to exciting partnerships and collaborations.
The event provides an excellent platform for the Agency to learn and engage with Academia on the Made in Kenya Initiative. This will bring to light the vital role of value addition in export trade and provide a unique opportunity for social entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers to discuss policies around the exports of Kenyan goods and services.
The Agency is hosting three Made in Kenya adoptees who are showcasing their products and will also learn how to leverage social entrepreneurship to drive economic growth and development. Agency staff will engage stakeholders present at the event on the importance of the Made in Kenya mark and its use in promoting local and international trade to promote uptake of the mark.
The three Made in Kenya adoptees include Green Pencils Limited, Go Granola Foods, and Arny’s Chilli.
Green Pencils Limited is an innovative company that manufactures high quality eco-friendly pencils made from recycled newspapers.
Go Granola Foods is famously known for their healthy and delicious granola alongside their honey coated cashews dubbed Go Cashews. Their production and packaging is done locally to present delicious and healthy breakfast choices to their consumers.
Arny’s chilli is a manufacturer of authentic Kenyan spices and sauces. The brand provides spices with ingredients sourced in Kenya to give their consumers an amazing culinary treat.
As this is 6th edition of AACOSE, the success and need of such a platform does not go unnoticed. AACOSE was mainly targeted to showcase the significant impact of the Social Entrepreneurship Training at Tangaza University College and since then, every edition has been able to create a bridge between social entrepreneurs, academic institutions and policymakers.
