The Government has prioritized several value chains to drive export-led economic growth. These include tea, coffee, edible oils, dairy, meat and leather, textiles and apparel products among others.

The Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) is mandated to build capacity of enterprises through the Export Readiness Awareness Program (ERA) for key value chains identified under the Bottom-Up Agenda (BETA) which includes the tea value chain.

A recent survey conducted by KEPROBA on constraints/pain areas in exporting identified limited access to timely and relevant trade, branding information, products supply and capabilities as well as exporting skills. This is a hinderance to prudent decision making and internationalization of enterprises therefore a key challenge that must be overcome as an integral part of the Government effort of export enhancement. This challenge is being addressed through an ERA that is targeting exporters and businesses for export readiness training in Introductory, Intermediate and Advance level.

The Export Readiness Awareness provides a platform for co-ordinated approach to export capacity building by KEPROBA and Trade Support Institutions. The aim is to serve and enhance the competitiveness of enterprises by equipping them with information and relevant skills to facilitate them navigate the ever-changing international trade arena with ease.

The Agency has organized an ERA Training for Tea Packers within Nairobi region to be held from 17th to 19th April 2024 at Sarova Stanley hotel.
